*nix Commands

While it might not be evident, but our lives are affected by a few happenings of yesterday. Of the most recent advancements, the internet is often quoted as "the" thing that changed the fate of humankind, perhaps forever. It is obviously true. But what powers the internet? What is it that all websites run on?

Even if we are to not give the internet any credit for changing our lives so significantly, we all can agree that Computers at least changed our lives the most. Computers need an operating system to run. All popular operating systems we see/use today evolved to be more user-friendly. But how does each tap on your phone turn into some action on the other side of the screen?

If there was one answer for all the questions above, it is this happening that has an impact radius as big as the size of the globe. It is *nix systems. I would more specifically attribute it to "Linux". One open-source operating system that changed the face of the world forever!

Knowledge of *nix commands is indispensable, especially if you are in the software field or if you are a citizen-developer. This series here is to throw some light on the most used Linux commands.
